Prep the ingredients
Chop the tomato into large bite-size pieces. Cube or slice the mozzarella. Rinse and roughly chop the basil leaves.
Whisk the dressing
In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, wine vinegar, and crushed garlic. Stir in the black pepper.
Toss the salad
Combine tomato, mozzarella, and basil in a large bowl. Drizzle over the dressing and toss gently so the cheese stays in nice pieces.
Chill briefly and serve
If you have time, chill for 10–15 minutes. Give it one more gentle toss right before serving.
