Preheat the oven to 175°C / 350°F. Lightly grease a medium baking dish so the apples don’t stick.
Add the sliced apples to the baking dish. Toss with lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cinnamon until evenly coated.
In a bowl, combine flour, brown sugar, oats, baking powder, and salt. Add the cold butter and rub it in with your fingertips until you get a crumbly, clumpy texture. Stir in the walnuts.
Sprinkle the crumble evenly over the apples. Don’t press it down too firmly—keeping it loose helps it bake up crisp.
Bake for 45 minutes, until the top is golden and the fruit is bubbling around the edges.
Let it sit for 10–15 minutes so the juices thicken slightly. Serve warm if you like.
