Pear Bread Recipe (Quick Bread)
This pear bread recipe is a simple quick bread that stays tender thanks to yogurt and buttermilk, with little pear pieces throughout. You just measure, mix, and bake it in one loaf pan. In the how-to, keep mixing gentle so the loaf bakes up light.
Ingredients

Step-by-Step Method
Prep the oven and pan
Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a loaf pan; line the bottom with parchment if you like easier release.
Mix dry ingredients
Whisk flour, salt, baking soda, baking powder, and nutmeg in a bowl until evenly combined.
Build the wet base
In another bowl, stir melted butter and sugar. Add the eggs one at a time, then mix in the vanilla.
Add yogurt and buttermilk
Stir in the yogurt until smooth. Pour in the buttermilk and mix briefly.
Combine wet and dry
Add the dry mix to the wet mix. Fold just until you no longer see dry flour; don’t overmix.
Fold in pears
Gently fold in the diced pears so they’re spread through the batter without getting mashed.
Bake
Pour batter into the pan and level the top. Bake 55–65 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool and serve
Let the loaf rest in the pan for 10–15 minutes, then turn out onto a rack. Slice once warm and serve.
