Oven Tray Kebab Recipe (with Potatoes)
This oven tray kebab recipe is made by mixing ground beef with onions, peppers, tomatoes, herbs, and spices, spreading it in a pan, and baking it with potatoes. The ingredients are simple and the how-to steps are short and clear—handy for an easy family dinner.
Ingredients
1. For the meat mixture
2. For the tray and topping
Step-by-Step Method
Preheat the oven
Heat the oven to 190°C (375°F). Lightly moisten a large baking tray so the meat mixture spreads more easily.
Mix the kebab base
Combine ground beef, onions, green peppers, red pepper, 3 tomatoes, parsley, and the spices. Knead for 2–3 minutes until evenly mixed.
Spread into the tray
Press the mixture into the tray in an even layer. Try not to leave the edges too thin so they don’t dry out.
Add potatoes and topping
Arrange the potato slices on top with a bit of space between them. Add sliced tomato and pepper over the tray.
Make the tomato paste sauce
Stir tomato paste with water until smooth, then pour it around the edges and lightly over the surface.
Bake and rest
Bake for about 40 minutes, until the potatoes are tender and the top is nicely browned. Rest 5 minutes, slice, and serve.
