Oatcake Biscuit Recipe
This oatcake recipe is a practical biscuit alternative prepared with whole wheat flour and oats and baked in the oven in a short time. We mix the ingredients in several bowls and gather the dough; We open it thinly and slice it and cook it. For a crispy texture, work the dough without heating it too much and let it rest on the tray after it comes out of the oven.

Step-by-Step Method
Preheat the oven, prepare the tray
Preheat the oven to 180°C. Line the tray with baking paper or lightly oil it.
Mix the oil and sugar
Mix margarine and brown sugar well in a bowl with a spoon. It is enough to have a homogeneous mixture; There is no need to whisk for too long.
Add the dry ingredients
Add whole wheat flour, oatmeal, and salt if using. Gather the mixture with a spatula or your hand until it resembles a crumbly dough.
Gather the dough with milk
Add the milk little by little. Stop if the dough comes together and takes shape; If you add too much milk, the dough may stick.
Shape and slice
Roll out the dough between two sheets of baking paper to a thickness of approximately 5–7 mm. Cut it into square or round slices of the size you want and place them on the tray.
Bake and rest
Bake for 20 minutes, until the edges are lightly browned. When it comes out of the oven, let it sit on the tray for 5 minutes, then put it on a wire rack and cool completely.
