Step-by-Step Method

6-step method
01

Prepare the sauce

In a small saucepan, combine garlic, water, tomato sauce, chili powder, salt, cumin, chopped green pepper and thyme. When it approaches boiling, reduce the heat; Cook for 8–10 minutes until slightly thickened.

02

Brown the ground meat

In a separate pan, fry the onion over medium heat until it softens. Add the minced meat and fry until it changes color. Add 1 tablespoon of chili powder and mix for another 1-2 minutes. If there is excess oil, drain it.

03

Prepare the oven and tray

Preheat the oven to 190°C. Spread a thin layer of the sauce on the bottom of the baking dish; so the tortillas do not stick and remain more juicy.

04

Wrap the tortillas

Share the minced meat mixture into each tortilla, wrap it tightly and place it on the tray with the seam side down. If the tortillas are dry, you can heat them in the microwave for 10–15 seconds and wrap them more easily.

05

Sauce and cheese

Pour the remaining sauce over the rolls. Sprinkle cheddar and easily melted white cheese evenly on top.

06

Bake in the oven

Place the tray in the oven and bake for 18–22 minutes until the cheese is melted and lightly browned. Slice and serve hot.
