7-step method
01

Prepare the tray

Cover a square mold of approximately 20x20 cm with baking paper. This way, when the fudge cools down, it comes out in one piece and can be cut easily.

02

Boil the sugar base

In a medium saucepan, combine butter, margarine, evaporated milk, granulated sugar and salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves, then let it boil.

03

Create the consistency

Once the mixture boils, turn the heat to medium-low. Cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally to avoid boiling over; The mixture will start to thicken slightly.

04

Melt the marshmallow

Remove the pot from the stove. Add mini marshmallows and mix quickly with a spatula; It melts with heat, making the mixture shiny and dense.

05

Fold in the walnuts

Add finely chopped walnuts and mix for a short time. If you want, you can save some of the coarsely chopped walnuts for last and sprinkle them on top.

06

Pour, flatten, Cool

Pour the mixture into the mold you prepared and smooth the surface. Let it rest at room temperature for 1–2 hours, then in the refrigerator for 30 minutes for clearer cutting.

07

Slice and store

Take the paper out and cut it into squares with a knife. Store in an airtight container in a cool place; Lightly oiling the blade while cutting makes the job easier.
