Lemon Mint Lamb Chops Recipe (Pan-Seared)
These lemon and mint lamb chops come together quickly in a skillet with a simple onion-lemon sauce. The ingredients stay minimal, and the method is straightforward: soften the onion in butter, build a bright lemon sauce with a touch of sugar, then sear the chops and coat them in the sauce before serving.
Ingredients
1. For the onion-lemon sauce
2. For the lamb chops
Step-by-Step Method
Soften the onion
Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Melt the butter, add the onion, and cook for 5–6 minutes, stirring, until soft and translucent.
Build the lemon sauce
Stir in the lemon zest, lemon juice, and sugar. Cook for 1–2 minutes so the sugar dissolves, then lower the heat to keep the sauce gentle.
Sear the chops
Add the lamb chops to the skillet. Sear over medium-high heat for 3–4 minutes per side until nicely browned. If needed, cook in batches so the pan isn’t crowded.
Coat with sauce
Return all chops to the skillet (if you removed any). Add the lemon slices, turn the chops in the sauce, and warm together for 2–3 minutes.
Finish with mint and serve
Turn off the heat and sprinkle in the chopped mint. Don’t overcook the mint—adding it at the end keeps it fresh. Serve right away.
