Ingredients
1. For the dough
2. Stuffing and frying
3. 6–8 wooden sticks (like popsicle sticks)
Step-by-Step Method
Start preparation
Dry the sausages and put them on sticks. If you want, you can lightly coat the sausages in flour so that the dough holds better.
Mix dry ingredients
Mix cornmeal, flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
Add wet ingredients, gather the dough
Beat the egg and add it to the milk, then pour it into the dry mixture. Mix until it becomes a smooth, thickly fluid dough; If it is too thick, you can add 1–2 tablespoons of milk.
Heat the oil.
Heat the oil in a deep pot over medium-high heat. The oil should be hot enough; If you add a small piece of the dough and it floats to the surface and bubbles immediately, it is ready.
Dip the sausages in batter and fry them
Dip the sausages into the batter and cover them completely. Carefully drop it into the oil and fry, turning, for 2–3 minutes until golden brown on all sides.
Drain and serve
Place the corn dogs on a paper towel and drain excess oil. Serve while hot; You can serve it with ketchup, mustard or yoghurt sauce.
