For the stuffing
Step-by-Step Method
Prepare the peppers
Preheat the oven to 190°C. Cut off the cap of the peppers and clean the seeds. If it is too big, flatten its base thinly and make it stand upright; cutting completely.
Stuffing start the mixture
Roast the minced meat in a pan over medium heat until it changes color slightly. Add the onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until it softens.
Add rice and tomatoes
Mix rice, tomatoes, salt and Worcestershire sauce. Pour the water over it, close the lid and keep it on low heat for 8–10 minutes until the rice is half cooked. If it seems too dry, you can add 2–3 more tablespoons of water.
Stuff the peppers
Fill the peppers with mortar without compressing them. Leave a small gap at the mouth as the mixture will swell a little while cooking.
Bake in the oven
Place the stuffed peppers upright in the baking dish. Add a small amount of water (about 1 cm) to the bottom of the container and ensure that the peppers do not dry out. Cook for 30–35 minutes, until the peppers soften.
Add the cheese and finish
Share cheddar cheese over the peppers. Bake for another 3–5 minutes; Take it out when the cheese melts. Let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
