Ingredients
1. For the dough
2. For the topping (optional)
Step-by-Step Method
Prepare the oven
Preheat the oven to 170°C. Cover the tray with wax paper so that the sticks do not stick.
Knead the dough
Mix grated cheese, margarine and butter in the bowl. Add the flour, paprika and hot pepper sauce and knead briefly until it becomes a dough that does not stick to the hand.
Let the dough rest
Wrap the dough with stretch wrap and keep it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Thus, it comes together more easily when shaping.
Shape
Roll out the dough into a thin layer between two sheets of baking paper. Cut thin strips and make sticks. If desired, lightly coat each stick with rice cereal.
Bake
Arrange the sticks on the tray, spaced apart. Bake for 40–45 minutes, until the edges are browned and dry. Ovens work differently; Check in the last 10 minutes.
Cool and serve
Let it rest for 5 minutes before removing it from the tray, then transfer it to the wire rack. It will be crispier when it cools completely. You can serve it at tea time or with soup.
