Applesauce Tea Bread Recipe (Cinnamon Quick Bread)
This applesauce tea bread recipe is a simple cinnamon-scented quick bread with a soft crumb. You’ll mix the dry and wet ingredients separately, combine them gently, and bake until a toothpick comes out clean. Slice it for tea time or a light snack.
Ingredients
1. Dry ingredients
2. Wet ingredients
Step-by-Step Method
Preheat and prep the pan
Heat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease and flour a loaf pan so the bread releases easily.
Mix the dry ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, and cinnamon until evenly combined.
Whisk the wet ingredients
In a second bowl, whisk the applesauce, egg, and milk until smooth.
Combine gently
Pour the wet mixture into the dry bowl. Fold just until you don’t see dry flour; don’t overmix so the loaf stays tender.
Bake
Scrape the batter into the pan and level the top. Bake 45–55 minutes, until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool and slice
Let the loaf rest in the pan for 10 minutes, then turn it out onto a rack to cool. Slice once warm or fully cooled.
