Ready in no time by following the “how to” steps.
Ingredients
1. Dry mixture
2. Stuffing mixture
3. Wet mixture
4. Topping (streusel)
Step-by-Step Method
Prepare the oven and mold
Preheat the oven to 190°C. Place paper capsules in muffin tray or lightly grease.
Mix the dry ingredients
Mix flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda and powdered cloves in a bowl with a wire whisk. Don't leave any lumps.
Beat the wet mixture.
Beat the eggs in a separate bowl. Add buttermilk (or buttermilk) and melted and warmed butter and mix briefly.
Combine the dough
Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture. Mix with spatula until just combined; If you mix too much, the muffin may become hard.
Add the apple and walnuts
Add chopped/grated apple and coarsely crushed walnuts and mix gently. Try to distribute the dough evenly.
Share it in the mold
Divide the dough into the muffin cups, filling them approximately 2/3 full. This leaves room for fluff.
Prepare the topping
For the topping, mix flour, brown sugar and cinnamon. Add the cold butter and crumble it with your fingertips until it reaches a crumb consistency.
Sprinkle on top and bake
Divide the crumbs over the muffins. Bake for 20–24 minutes; When the toothpick comes out clean, take it out of the oven.
Let it rest and serve
Leave it on the tray for 5 minutes, then transfer it to the wire rack. You can serve it while it is warm.
