Step-by-Step Method
Prepare the oven
Preheat the oven to 220°C. Cover the tray with wax paper or lightly oil it.
Mix dry ingredients
Mix flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder in a large bowl until homogeneous.
Mix butter into flour
Add the cold butter cubes. Quickly crumble with fingertips or pastry cutter until sandy texture forms; Be careful not to melt the butter.
Add eggs
Beat the eggs in a separate bowl and add them to the mixture. Mix with spatula.
Gather the dough with the liquid
Add milk/buttermilk little by little and mix until the dough comes together. Do not over knead the dough; It may remain slightly sticky.
Shape
Press the dough to a thickness of 2–3 cm on a floured counter. Cut out circles with a glass or cutter; Gather the remaining dough once more and cut again.
Bake
Place the biscuits on the tray. Bake for 12–15 minutes, until the tops are lightly browned.
Serve
When you take them out of the oven, brush them with melted butter if you like. Serve while warm.
